Le candidat travaillera à l’établissement des mécanismes reliant les deux bassins par des ponts atmosphériques et des rétroactions dues au couplage entre océan et atmosphère. En particulier, le post-doctorant analysera des expériences de type pacemaker réalisées avec le modèle climatique IPSL-CM6, et conçues dans le cadre de CMIP6 pour mettre en évidence ces mécanismes.

Cette recherche sera effectuée dans le cadre du projet JPI Climate / JPI Ocean ROADMAP (The Role of ocean dynamics and Ocean-Atmosphere interactions in Driving cliMAte variations and future Projections of impact-relevant extreme events), qui implique 12 partenaires européens.

The post-doctoral fellow will work on establishing the mechanisms linking the two basins through atmospheric bridges and feedbacks due to ocean-atmosphere coupling. In particular, the post-doctoral fellow will analyze the available pacemaker model experiments with the IPSL-CM6 climate model that were performed for CMIP6 and designed to emphasize these mechanisms.

This research will be done within the JPI Climate / JPI Ocean ROADMAP (The Role of ocean dynamics and Ocean-Atmosphere interactions in Driving cliMAte variations and future Projections of impact-relevant extreme events) project, which involves 12 European partners.
