Séminaire
Martian aerosols investigated with imagers and high resolution models
Jorge HERNÁNDEZ BERNAL
LATMOS seminar.
Description
The research of Martian aerosols is often based on global surveys by point-spectrometers that capture the global trends, and the reproduction of such trends with models. Imagers offer a different kind of coverage and enable a different approach to the research of Martian aerosols. They provide details on the morphology and dynamics of aerosol masses, enable analysis of sol-to-sol meteorological variations, provide context for other kinds of observations, and in some cases can provide information on aspects hardly accessible for retrievals by point-spectrometers. Imagers become particularly powerful when they are combined with high resolution models (whether mesoscale of high resolution GCMs), enabling new kinds of comparisons. In this seminar I will talk about my work and research ideas on this line.
