Modelling and assimilation activities at CNRM on atmospheric composition in support to real time applications
Vincent Guidard (CNRM)
–
Description
Météo-France operates a real time application on atmospheric composition using the chemistry transport model MOCAGE, which provides information to various users: CAMS regional ensemble for air quality, national air quality forecasts for the Prev’Air consortium, mineral dusts forecasts for the national defense, UV indices, etc.
Météo-France is also in charge of a Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre for Civil Aviation, over a wide region covering Europe and Africa. This talk will provide an overview of research activities in support to these applications, with a strong focus on satellite data assimilation.
