From January to March 2023, the Polarstern went though a long journey across the Southern Ocean to finally reach the Bellingshausen Sea.

There, most of the scientists on board found the perfect sea ice conditions to investigate the history of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet through geophysical surveys and geological sample collection near the continental shelf. This seminar will be a recollection of pictures and memories of this wonderful 11-week expedition I took part in.
