Introduction
JIPSL (Jeunes engagé·es de l'IPSL) is a group gathering early career people of various labs and campuses across Île-de-France to explore alternative ways to act on the climate emergency. It brings together PhD students, engineers, post-docs and others on a voluntary basis to reflect and share on our practices and responsibilities as workers in the field of climate.
Organization

- Debunking: collaborating with associations to debunk misinformation
- Media training: organizing media training sessions to learn how to answer journalists’ questions on climate issues
- Outreach: giving talks on climate and environmental issues in schools
- Political actions: connecting with climate activism organizations and organizing “political coffees”
- Paper: writing an academic article on scientific neutrality
- Seminars: organizing seminars on societal impacts and research ethics; next topic: “scientific expertise as a form of engagement”
- Link with C2S: bringing ideas to the Climate and Society Center (C2S) and sharing updates from C2S; we also help organize the C2S annual day
- Recruitment: reaching out to early-career researchers across IPSL labs
We also have social events to discuss informally.
