Résumé :
The talk will discuss the variability of Atlantic Water in the Subpolar North Atlantic ocean and its global linkages. Analyses suggest a strong link to the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation and multidecadal variability. How this may i) influence the Pacific decadal variability and ii) feedback on the North Atlantic will also be discussed. The goal of this research is to better understand, from a global perspective, what sets the stage and maintain warm and cold Atlantic water regimes in the Subpolar North Atlantic. These regimes are expected to be important for the Labrador Sea deep water formation.
