Résumé :

Aerosol, cloud, and aerosol-cloud interactions remain highly uncertainty in climate projection. In this talk, we use meteorological reanalysis, cloud simulators and corresponding satellite observations, as well as surface and aircraft measurements to evaluate the Community Atmosphere Model Version 5 (CAM5) and the Weather Research and Forecasting model with Chemistry (WRF-Chem). We find that some biases are associated with the simulated circulation features, and others are associated with model physics. We also note that the sampling and algorithmic inconsistencies between models and observations should be account for in model evaluation and calibration procedures.
