Résumé :

Cold and dense Ice Shelf Water (ISW) is formed in the southern Weddell Sea when seawater interacts with the glacial ice within the Filchner-Ronne ice shelf. The ISW leaves the cavity through the Filchner Depression in the east and descends the continental slope, contributing to bottom water formation. During the talk we will follow the ISW from the cavity, through the Filchner Depressiona and down to the bottom of the Weddell Sea, discussing relevant physics and variability on time-scales from days to years.
